Deep Research Strand
The ONEHEALTH Deep Research Strand supports collaborative research between leading research organisations and industry partners across Northern Ireland and Ireland.
It focuses on developing AI-driven innovations that address challenges across human health, animal health and the environment.
Led by research organisations and delivered in collaboration with industry, this strand brings together academic expertise and real-world insight to explore complex challenges where AI, data and advanced technologies can unlock new solutions.
Through these collaborations, researchers and SMEs investigate new ideas, technologies and approaches that may require deeper scientific or technical exploration and could shape the future of the ONEHEALTH ecosystem.
Led by Catalyst, with a consortium of leading universities and research organisations, ONEHEALTH is funded by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) through the PEACEPLUS Programme.
What areas does it focus on?
Research activity explores challenges across the connected ONEHEALTH domains, including:
Human health
Animal health and welfare
Agrifood systems
Environmental monitoring
By bringing these areas together, the programme aims to encourage new ideas and cross-sector innovation.
How the research projects work
Research is delivered in phases across the lifetime of the ONEHEALTH project, helping ensure that projects remain relevant as technologies and industry needs evolve.
Deep research projects are delivered through cross-border collaboration between SMEs and research institutions.
Projects apply AI and data-driven technologies to explore real-world challenges and develop new approaches that could shape future products, processes or services.
Who it is for
The Deep Research Strand may be relevant to SMEs that:
Are exploring new AI-enabled innovation opportunities
Want to collaborate with leading researchers and technical experts
Are interested in longer-term research and development activity
See potential in cross-border collaboration
SMEs interested in learning more about collaboration opportunities are encouraged to engage with the ONEHEALTH team as the programme develops.
The Deep Research Strand forms part of the wider ONEHEALTH programme.
